Ron Russell began practicing immigration law in 1989. Licensed
to practice before the Supreme Court of Kentucky, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky,
and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Mr. Russell has successfully represented clients throughout the United
States and world in all areas of family-based and employment-based immigration, as well as in asylum applications and removal
proceedings.
Mr. Russell is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association
(AILA) as well as a dedicated advocate. He and a client were featured in a national documentary highlighting the need
for immigration reform. He has twice appeared on Public TV and once on Public radio debating the need for comprehensive
immigration reform. Since beginning his practice, Mr. Russell has consistently advocated for the rights of immigrants,
speaking at rallies and other public events. He also serves on the Board of the Kentucky Coalition for Immigrant and
Refugee Rights and is a member of the Louisville-based Hispanic Latino Coalition, and the National Immigration Project of
the National Lawyers Guild.
Mr. Russell earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Brandeis School of Law, University
of Louisville (1989). He continues his legal education by participating in various immigration seminars and courses
and is very active in AILA, serving as Chair of the Mid-South Chapter from 1999 to 2001, on the Board of Governors from 1999
to 2001, and on the 2002 and 2003 Annual Conference Program Committees. He has spoken at national and regional conferences
on various aspects of immigration law.

Rachel Newton earned her Juris Doctor degree at Northeastern
University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts in 1997. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Smith
College in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1993, then worked for a year as a full-time volunteer with Casa Marianella, a shelter
for Latin American refugees and the Spanish-speaking homeless in Austin, Texas.
Fluent in Spanish and a strong advocate for the rights of immigrants, Ms. Newton represented
immigrants and refugees in her work with Proyecto Libertad in Harlingen, Texas, the International Institute of Buffalo in
Buffalo, New York, and for nearly six years with Ahmad Law Office in Lexington, Kentucky, before joining Russell Immigration
Law Firm. She also practiced criminal defense for three and a half years as an Assistant Public Defender
in Alamogordo, New Mexico, before re-dedicating herself to immigration law in 2001.
A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Ms. Newton has been
interviewed for newspaper articles and television news reports in Lexington, Kentucky, regarding immigration issues.
She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (KCIRR),
a position she has held since its founding in 2006.
Ms. Newton’s practice focuses primarily on business immigration, family-based
immigration, naturalization, and defending immigrants in removal proceedings with the Immigration Court.

Becky started with the Russell Immigration Law Firm in November 1997,
and handles a challenging variety of cases, much of them family-based. The immigrant visa is a particularly demanding
and sometimes complicated process that Becky manages very well. In addition, she works on fiancé(e) and relative
petitions, and adjustment applications. A skillful and valuable resource to colleagues and clients alike, her personal and

Shawn started with the Russell Immigration Law Firm during the week
of September 11, 2001, a time which has dramatically impacted on the lives of both the documented and undocumented people
in this country. Family based applications, removal cases, and requests for asylum are a valuable part of Shawn’s
education because they teach her about people, their cultures, and country conditions. Some of her favorite cases have
been applications for asylum, as the stories of people who have escaped from unimaginable situations teach us understanding,
compassion, and gratitude for what we do not have to fear or experience.

Vivian joined our firm in the summer of 2006 as a paralegal. She has
been working in the immigration field of law for approximately 15 years. Originally from Colombia, South America, she
is fluent in Spanish and can relate well to the immigrant community. She firmly believes in these famous words, also
known as the Golden Rule: “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them.”
Vivian normally focuses in the areas of family-based petitions, immigrant visas, consular processing, naturalization, and
asylum.
